Spires is a South London based charity that has been helping hundreds of homeless and disadvantaged people all year round for over 25 years.
Why is this important to us? We believe in sustainability. Not just for our planet but for people too. Our societies should provide enough support for the least well-off. Spires is local to us and they've been on the frontline of supporting those in our neighbourhood who most need a helping hand.
Bamboo is considered a true sustainability champion.
It holds the record for being the world’s fastest growing plant and is naturally organic so needs no pesticides or fertilisers to grow. Growing this plant requires no additional water and it is capable of absorbing more CO2 per hectare than trees.
Clothing made from recycled plastic is becoming increasingly popular.
This offers one approach to the issue of plastic waste and its toxic impact on our oceans and planet.
By salvaging plastic and giving it a second use we are helping to make use of existing resources. This reduces our carbon footprint by lowering the demand for new petroleum to produce new products.
